The quality of your tint job depends heavily on the film brand used. Ask what brands the shop carries. Reputable brands like Wintech, 3M, Llumar, and SunTek use quality materials that won't bubble, peel, or turn purple over time. Avoid shops that can't name their film brand or use generic "house brand" films with no manufacturer backing.
A professional tint shop should offer a warranty on both the film and the installation. Ask specifically: What does the warranty cover? How long does it last? Is it a manufacturer warranty or a shop warranty? Lifetime warranties are common with quality films — be skeptical of shops that offer no warranty at all.
Ask to see examples of their previous work, or check their Google and Yelp reviews specifically for mentions of bubbles, peeling, or poor edge cuts. A quality installation should have clean edges, no bubbles, and consistent darkness across the entire window.
